Katarina Butenschoen has taught piano for five years. She has accompanied high school students at Polytechnic School in Anything Goes, prepared students taking piano exams, and also accompanies students for recitals and music examinations.
Katarina received her Bachelor’s in Music from the University of California, Irvine. She will attend California State University Fullerton for her Master’s Degree in Piano Pedagogy in the fall. She went to Pasadena City College where she received several honors and awards including the Westerbeck Scholarship, Tierney Scholarship, the Piano Accompanying Award and Second Place in the Old Town Music Piano Competition. Her teachers have included Nina Scolnik, Phillip Young, Cynthia Williams and Mimi Chen.
Katarina speaks English and Mandarin Chinese.
